Graduate in Biological Sciences (Biophysics)
The Graduate Program in Biological Sciences – Biophysics – was created in 1963, being one of the first to be accredited by the Culture and Education Ministry (MEC) and was responsible for issuing the first Doctorate degree at UFRJ.
The Program has a grade of 7 in CAPES and, by December 2020, 1006 masters and 869 doctors had graduated in the Program, totaling 1,875 titles.
Graduate in Biological Sciences (Physiology)
The Graduate Program in Biological Sciences – Physiology – was created in 1996 due to a growing demand for PhDs in the field of Physiology.
At that time, the Carlos Chagas Filho Biophysics Institute had numerous professors working in different areas of Physiology with relevant contributions in the production of scientific articles and in the training of highly qualified human resources. The Program has a grade of 7 in CAPES and, by December 2020, 244 Masters and 263 Doctors had been trained in the Program, totaling 507 titles.
Graduate in Professional MSc - Biomedical Research
Approved by CAPES in December 2011, the Professional Master's Degree course in Training for Biomedical Research has the main objective to form professional masters in Biomedical Research. The Program has a grade of 4 in CAPES and, by December 2020, 53 masters had graduated.
It is expected that graduated masters will work in public or private companies, highly qualified in the most diverse technical-scientific activities of the latest generation in the Biomedical area.
