Our Graduate Program in Biological Sciences – Biophysics – was created in 1963, being one of the first programs to be certified by the Brazilian Culture and Education Ministry (MEC) and was responsible for issuing the first Doctorate degree at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ. The Program has a grade of 7 in CAPES and by December 2020, 1006 masters and 869 doctors had been trained in the Program, totaling 1,875 titles. Our Program aims the preparation of highly qualified professional who can work in the scientific community as creative and autonomous teachers/researchers. Our Master's dissertations and Doctoral theses are original works based on the development of original scientific research projects.
